Heikki Ylönen – Painter & Writer
Heikki Ylönen is a Finnish-born painter and writer whose creative work is deeply rooted in human emotion. After spending several years in Tallinn, Estonia, he now lives and works in Riga, Latvia, where he continues to develop his artistic practice.
With a professional background in communication both in Finland and abroad, Heikki remains active as a marketing consultant on a project basis. However, his lifelong passion for painting now takes center stage in his daily life.
His artistic journey began at the age of fifteen, combining formal studies with personal exploration. Alongside visual expression, Heikki also writes poetry, often inspired by the same emotional themes found in his paintings.
Among his many works, some are deeply inspired by classical philosophy—especially the writings of Seneca, Descartes, and Cicero—reflecting a thoughtful dialogue between art and philosophical inquiry.
