Lauris Viksne is an acclaimed Latvian photographer known for capturing the essence of life in his homeland. His passion for photography began at age five with his grandfather’s camera, leading him to start as an event photographer at the “Teen ’98” contest.

Over the years, Lauris transitioned from aspiring bus driver and dance teacher to a prominent photographer, earning recognition in Latvia’s tabloid press. His unique perspective allows him to find beauty in everyday moments, leading to numerous accolades in the photographic community.

His fourth solo exhibition, “The Art of Reflection: Urban Expression by Vīksne,” showcased at our museum, explores the streets of Riga, highlighting the city’s vibrant urban landscape through striking images of light and shadow while reflecting its rich cultural heritage.
